Thai Massage
Thai Massage is a full-body restorative massage that leverages the massage therapist’s body weight to apply therapeutic pressure along energy lines throughout the body. Developed thousands of years ago, Thai Massage is based on the concept of energy lines (Sen lines), which are how energy flows through the body. This massage modality focuses on improving energy flow and preventing or clearing blockages that may present in the body as pain, tension, and dysfunction. Victor D. Cabral of NKbody at Fit Faction is a licensed massage therapist and specializes in Thai Massage. Positioned on a floor mat, Victor applies pressure, stretches, pulls, or rocks particular areas of a client’s body, engaging his hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms, knees, and feet. He also incorporates various techniques, including pressure point therapy, manual stretching, and body movement manipulation. Through manual stretching, he provides a more dynamic, deep, and effective stretch than clients can achieve on their own. Utilizing body movement manipulation, Victor adjusts a client’s body into poses or positions similar to assisted yoga.
